Dan Grade Promotion Commission
The BJJA GB Promotion Commission now automatically reviews all registered Ju Jitsuka from 6th Dan and above to determine whether promotion should be recommended.
The previously employed ‘application’ driven scheme has been discontinued and replaced by this formal grade review process.
The flowchart below details the minimum time in grade and age requirements for the various possible scenarios and consideration is also made for the level of an individual’s activity and achievement within the sport/martial art.
To support this procedure, these Ju-Jitsuka are encouraged to submit a CV detailing their Ju-Jitsu achievements to date and particularly since their last promotion. The CV should ideally be submitted via e-mail as an attached document to chairman@bjjagb.com - hard copies can also be forwarded via BJJAGB Head Office and should be marked for the attention of The BJJAGB Technical panel and Promotion Commission.

These are the minimum requirements for high grade promotions. Up-gradings are not a foregone entitlement.
