Sensei Michael Player (8th Dan) is the head of the British Goshin Jitsu Association, one of the founding members of the British Ju Jitsu Association Governing Body.
During his 30 year career of competitive Judo he has competed and won many national and international championships in South Africa, Europe and America as part of the British Judo Association, the British Judo Council and the Amateur Judo Association. He was selected for the British Sambo Team to fight in Russia in 1986 and won the world Ju Jitsu championships at Doncaster in 1993.
He was a personal pupil of Matsuri Otani for over 20 years and is proud that his 4th Dan Budo grading was supervised by the founder of the association Kenshiro Abbe (8th Dan) who first introduced Aikido, Kendo, Jo and traditional Japanese weapons to Europe.
Since retiring from active competition, he has taken the post of Technical Chairman at the British Ju Jitsu Association and has represented the BJJA(GB) in international courses around the world. He also holds the posts of National Examiner, National Tutor Coach, National Ratification Officer and is a JJIF referee.
